Maputo National Park
A day in the wild
Maputo National Park
From the ocean, the road leads into a landscape of lakes, wetlands, savannah and forest. Maputo National Park protects an exceptional natural area in southern Mozambique and, together with neighbouring protected areas, forms an important link between the coast and the African interior.
A guided tour or day trip reveals a completely different side of the region. Depending on the route and a little luck, wildlife and abundant birdlife can be seen as the landscape changes along the way.
Sea in the morning. Africa in the afternoon. Fewer kilometres lie between the two than you might expect.
Good to know
Safari routes, park access and travel times depend on the season, weather, road conditions and park rules. Plan excursions in good time with a suitable operator and allow for longer driving times.
