Nova Atlantis
Nova Atlantis
Nova Atlantis is a place where the sea is the first thing you hear in the morning. Between the Indian Ocean, dunes and untouched nature, it offers a retreat that needs no fanfare: open space, quiet, and days that feel like your own again.
Walk barefoot to the beach in the morning, perhaps head out onto the water later, then sit beneath a southern sky in the evening. There is no schedule to keep. That is precisely the luxury.
Nova Atlantis combines private comfort with the freedom of southern Mozambique. It is not a conventional resort, and there is no holiday programme dictating the day. Think of it instead as a temporary home in an extraordinary corner of the world, and a starting point for everything waiting outside.
Getting Here
The journey to Nova Atlantis is part of the experience. Ponta Malongane lies in the far south of Mozambique, between Ponta do Ouro and the protected coastal landscapes of Maputo National Park.
From Maputo, the route heads south across the Maputo-Katembe Bridge. The main road is paved as far as Ponta do Ouro, but the final kilometres to Ponta Malongane are on sandy roads. A four-wheel-drive vehicle is therefore recommended for the direct journey and is locally stated as necessary.
It is also possible to enter via South Africa. The Kosi Bay / Ponta do Ouro border crossing lies south of the region and is a commonly used route for travellers coming from KwaZulu-Natal. Anyone who does not wish to continue in a suitable vehicle should arrange a transfer in advance.
Entry & border formalities
