Ocean & Land

Ocean & Land

Between two worlds

Ocean & Land

On one side, the Indian Ocean. On the other, dunes, coastal forest, lakes and the open landscapes of southern Mozambique. Around Nova Atlantis, sea and wilderness lie so close together that a single day can move easily between both worlds.

Head out onto the water in the morning, then travel through quiet landscapes later in the day. Dolphins may appear offshore, whales migrate through the Mozambique Channel in season, and sea turtles use protected beaches in the region for nesting. Further inland, a different landscape begins, with wetlands, savannah and a remarkable variety of birds and wildlife.

Perhaps that contrast is what makes it unusual: salt water on your skin in the morning, endless savannah in view a few hours later.

The sea opens your view. The land widens it.
